CIMIT launches course in animation for Odisha students

There is good news for aspiring students in Odisha who want to make a career in animation and multimedia. City-based Cybertech Institute of Management and Information Technology (CIMIT) today launched ‘CIMIT Animation’ offering various multimedia and animation courses.

Addressing the gathering on the occasion, Mrs Arundhati said animation and multimedia has always caught the fancy and aspiration of young professionals, artists, mass communication and management students as a lucrative career options. “But since Odisha lacks adequate infrastructure and programmes on latest animation technologies, most students aspiring for a career in animation have to travel to cities like Hyderabad and Bangalore to pursue these multimedia courses,” she said hoping that CIMIT Animation would fill the void.

CIMIT Animation will offer Bachelor in Science (B Sc) course in animation and Diploma in Multimedia and Animation courses affiliated to the Karnataka State Open University. This apart, it will also offer specialist programmes like Diploma course in 3D Graphics, Certificate course in advance Maya Character Animation, Certificate in Visual Effects, Specialist Programme in Graphics Design, Specialist Programme in Web Design, Specialist Programme in Audio Video Editing, Specialist Programme in Composition and Specialist Programme in Graphic Design.

The One Year Diploma courses in Multimedia and Animation would provide the students ample opportunities to excel in the sector of animation layout design and animation principles, post production, graphics software, Photoshop, illustrator, Corel Ddraw and audio/video editing. The institute is also providing specialist programmes under its one year diploma course like 3D modelling, texturing, rigging in 3Ds, Max 3D Animation, lighting and rendering in 3Ds max.

A student who has passed Plus Two (Intermediate) is eligible to get admitted into the course and pursue a career as an expert animator.

Rupesh Kumar Panda, an animator of the institute said, “CIMIT Animation is providing the latest hardware technology Mac-Pro and other advanced technologies. Students will have the opportunity of industry exposure through the specialization courses offered by CIMIT Multimedia and Animation.”

“To give students first hand exposure and skills to control any live project of any media house smoothly and to be a master in a production house technology, CIMIT has tied up with different electronic media houses in Odisha,” Panda added.
