Citing delay in teaching hospital construction work, Odisha cancels MoU with Vedanta

Bhubaneswar: In a major setback to Vedanta Ltd, the Odisha government today cancelled a memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed between it and the company for establishment of a 500-bedded teaching hospital in Bhawanipatna of Kalahandi district.

Citing inordinate delay in execution of the teaching hospital work by Vedanta Ltd, the government cancelled the agreement with immediate effect after careful consideration.

Worth mentioning, the government signed the MoU with Vedanta on March 27, 2018 for setting up of the teaching hospital for the medical college at Bhawanipatna.
