Angul: In a tragic incident, a class 10 student died after he was hit by a speeding truck here in the district today.

The deceased was identified as Santosh Rout, a class 10 student Sanahula Panchayat High School.

The incident occurred near Similia Khali Dhipasahi under Thakurgarh police limits.

According to reports, a sand-laden truck hit Santosh from his behind while he along with his friends was going to school. He died on the spot.

The incident sparked tension in the area with road blockade agitation by the locals and school students.
