Class 10 summative examinations in Odisha from tomorrow

 Bhubaneswar: As many as 5,41,247 students will be taking the Class 10 summative examination-2 conducted by the

Odisha Board of Secondary Education (BSE) starting tomorrow. The exams, which will commence from March 10 till March 20, will be held at 3,218 centres.

There will be 316 nodal centres including 22 police stations, of which 7 are in Kandhamal, 5 in Koraput, and 10 in Malkangiri. Besides, 74 squads have been created including 36 from the board to ensure smooth conduct of the examinations. All district education officers and centre superintendents have been directed to exercise vigilance and check malpractice. As per reports, question papers have already reached the nodal centres and will be taken to the exam centres on the day of the examination. In a first, the district administrations will escort the dispatch of question papers.

Odisha BSE President Ramashis Hazra said all preparations have been done by the board. The examination will start at 8 am. Students have been instructed to reach one hour early. “All exams shall be conducted in the first sitting, i.e at 8 am. A dispatch team will take the question papers from the nodal centres and a police team will escort them. As per instructions of the Chief Secretary, a district administration vehicle will also follow the team. The papers will reach between 6-7 am, not earlier or later than that. Security arrangements have also been done for Madhayama and State Open School Certificate (SOSC) exams, which will also be held simultaneously. Students have been asked to take only admit cards, black and blue pens, pencils and geometry boxes. All mobile phones will be frisked away and kept under lock and key,” he told mediapersons.

Board vice president Nihar Ranjan Mohanty said students have been asked to read the textbooks carefully. Arrangements have been made to provide drinking water facility at all centres. Students and persons engaged in conducting the exam should be checked thoroughly before entering the examination centre. Orientation of DEOs and centre superintendents have been done. Question papers have reached and all arrangements done. There is no scope for leak of question papers. There will be squads to prevent any such possibility,” he added.
