Class 3 girl raped in Odisha; hospitalized  

Rourkela: In yet another shameful incident,  a Class-3 girl has allegedly been raped by an unidentified miscreant in Jhirapani police station area here. The incident that occurred on Saturday night came to light after family members of the survivor lodged a complaint at Jhirapani police station in yesterday.

Sources said the minor had gone to Pump House Basti in Sector 20 here to attend tuition classes on Saturday evening but did not return after that. The next morning, a few members of a voluntary outfit found her crying near Koel river and informed her family members. She was later admitted to Rourkela Government Hospital (RGH) in critical condition.

Meanwhile, the accused, a major, has absconded after committing the crime. Acting on the complaint, police began an investigation into the incident and launched a manhunt to nab the accused.
