Class 9 girl kidnapped, gang raped in Odisha; 1 held

Kendrapara: In a fresh incident of minor girls being raped in Odisha, a Class 9 student was allegedly kidnapped and raped by two youth in Aul police station area on Sunday.

The incident came to fore after family members of the girl lodged a complaint at Aul police station in this connection today.

Reportedly, on the fateful night, the girl went outside to attend nature’s call, when two youth came and abducted her. After taking her to an isolated place, the duo took turns to rape her. However, the girl somehow managed to escape from the spot and later narrated her ordeal before her parents.

Based on the complaint lodged by the victim’s family members, police registered a case and detained one of the accused. The cops launched a manhunt to nab the other accused and are further investigating the incident.
