Class-IX residential school girl impregnated by cook in Odisha

Koraput: A class-IX girl student of a residential school in Dasmantpur block of Odisha’s Koraput district was allegedly raped and impregnated by the cook of the hostel.

After the matter came to fore, the school authorities sent the victim back to her house, reports said.

Though no complaint has been lodged in this regard with police, the district Collector has directed the District Welfare Officer (DWO) to probe into the matter.

“As per the direction of the Collector, we have initiated investigation into the incident. Stringent action will be taken against the accused,” said DWO Madhusmita Mohapatra.
