Cleanliness of mind, body and wealth essential: Venkaiah Naidu

Bhubaneswar: Cleanliness of mind, body and wealth is essential for everyone, said Vice President Venkaiah Naidu during annual convocation ceremony of AIIMS Bhubaneswar here today.

Addressing the students of the country’s premier medical institution, Naidu laid emphasis on the cleanliness and healthcare facilities for development of the country.

He also talked about demonetisation, the tough decision by the Centre to clean the society.

“There is a close connection between cleanliness and health. If the mind is clean, body will automatically become fit and fine,” he said.

He said that the Centre has taken initiatives in field of healthcare.

Remembering late Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee Naidu, he admired him for his vision.

He said that Vajpayee had dreamt of setting up AIIMS in different parts of country including Bhubaneswar to provide better healthcare facilities to poor.

“His dream has now come true,” Naidu said.

Naidu began his speech in Odia language with ‘Namaskar’ saying, “I like Odisha.”

After attending the function, Naidu made his way back to New Delhi from Bhubaneswar airport at around 11.50 am.
