Odisha Vigilance officials today arrested Rabindranath Barik, head clerk at Niali sub-registrar office, for allegedly receiving bribe.

According to reports, Barik was receiving a bribe of Rs 4,000 from one Manas Ranjan Panda of Tola Gopinathpur to provide the latter an Encumbrance certificate (EC) of a land.

The Vigilance sleuths, who had laid a trap after getting complaint in this regard, caught the clerk red handed while receiving the money.

The officials also seized cash of Rs 63,000 from Behera.
