CM inaugurates new multi-storey BMC building; dedicates ‘Safa’ app

Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik inaugurated the new 11-storey building of Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) today at Satya Nagar locality in Bhubaneswar. Patnaik also dedicated ‘Safa’ app meant for people residing in the civic area. BMC will function at its new address henceforth.

Office of the civic body near Museum Square has been shifted to the BMC-ICOMC building. Previously, Deloitte and Bhubaneswar Smart City Limited (BSCL) had shifted their offices to the new location.

A source said that the building reflects the art and culture of Odisha. Five floors of the building will be used for commercial purposes and the spaces will be rented out to different corporate houses.

BMC will have its office in three floors. Command and Control Centre (CCC) and BSCL are to have their offices in one floor each. Besides, the ground floor is to be used for vehicle parking purposes. The new building has a special conference hall meant for the civic body including other modern amenities.

South-east zonal office of BMC, which is presently functional in a rented building at Samantarapur, will be shifted to the old building at Museum Square following the inauguration, an official informed.
