CM Naveen inaugurates 2nd bridge over Mahanadi in Sambalpur

Sambalpur: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today inaugurated a high level bridge over river Mahanadi that connects Nelson Mandela Chhak here with Chaurapur in Sambalpur district.

Reportedly, this is the second bridge constructed over river Mahanadi in Sambalpur that will reduce the distance to district headquarters by 25 kilometre.

The 1.5-kilometre bridge constructed at a cost of Rs 117.72 crore will connect Sambalpur town with rural peripheries like Chaurapur, Goshala and Chipilima improving the socio-economic livelihoods in the region.

Besides, the CM announced construction of another high level bridge near Malatijor at a cost of Rs 20 crore and another bridge near Balibandha at Rs 10 crore. He also sanctioned Rs 3 crore for infrastructure development of Veer Surendra Sai Stadium.

On the occasion, Patnaik inaugurated 19 developmental projects worth Rs 100 crores and laid foundation stones of 14 welfare projects worth Rs 338 crores. He later attended a youth conclave organised by Biju Yuva Vahini in the town.
