Malkangiri: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik will inaugurate Gurupriya bridge, which will serve as a lifeline for the people in cut-off areas of Malkangiri district, on July 26. BJD district president and MLA Manas Mdakami informed this today.
The 910-bridge was earlier scheduled to be inaugurated on July 18. However, it was postponed due to inclement weather. The bridge will connect as many as 151 villages with around 30,000 population in the cut-off region.
Patnaik would also inaugurate 300-bed district headquarters hospital (DHH) here on the day. Preparation for the events is on in full swing.
However, the Congress district unit has called for Chitrakonda bandh on the day to oppose the CM’s visit to the district.
