CM Naveen to visit Malkangiri on Aug 20 to distribute smart health cards

Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik is scheduled to visit Maoist-affected Malkangiri district on August 20 to distribute the newly-launched smart health cards among the beneficiaries.

Official sources said the CM will also interact with the villagers, during his visit. LEDs have been installed in various blocks for the programme. Besides, seven Ministers will remain present in eight blocks of the district to sensitise the public about benefits of the health card.

In next phase, the CM will visit Sundargarh, Mayurbhanj and Balangir districts to handover the smart health cards. It has been targeted that all beneficiaries in the state will avail the card by November this year.

During the state-level Independence Day celebration at Unit-3 Exhibition Ground here, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik yesterday announced smart health cards for 3.5 crore people of the state under the Biju Swasthya Kalyan Yojana .
