CMS staff loots cash of around Rs 6 Lakh from ATMs in Odisha’s Sundargarh, arrested

Sundargarh: A staff of a cash management service (CMS) company looted cash of around Rs 6 lakh from separate automatic teller machine (ATM) kiosks of the State Bank of India in Sundargarh district. However, the accused was arrested today by a team of local police and forwarded to court later in the day.

The employee has been identified as 28-year-old Anil Kumar Behera from Khurda district.

Anil had looted the total cash in phases at different times from separate SBI ATM kiosks. The accused man was an employee of the company and was in charge of the organisation’s Sundargarh office.

A manager of the bank’s branch earlier lodged an FIR with police, acting on which, Anil was arrested today. He had learned the technique of opening an ATM when he was the Head of the cash management company. A probe team had previously picked up four employees of the company including Anil and interrogated them. During the probe, he confessed to his crime, a senior police official said.
