Dhenkanal: Vigilance officials today raided office and houses of Assistant Registrar of Dhenkanal Co-operative Societies, Bidyadhar Behera, on charges of acquisition and possession of assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.

On the strength of a search warrant, separate teams of the Vigilance Cuttack Division conducted simultaneous raids at four places associated with him.

The anti-graft officials searched his residential house at Kalarahanga under Infocity police limits in Bhubaneswar, a 2 BHK flat at Astik Residency at Patia  in Bhubaneswar, a house at his native place at Kumbharia under Bhandaripokhari police station in Bhadrak district and his chamber at the office of Assistance Registrar of Dhenkanal Co-operative Societies.

However, the amount of disproportionate property that the Government official has possessed will be ascertained after completion of the search drive, said an official.
