Bhubaneswar: The Twin City Commissionerate Police have arrested the owner of a coaching centre for allegedly misbehaving with a class-X tribal girl student of the institute in Mancheswar area of Odisha capital.

The arrested, identified as Narayan Khuntia (50), has been forwarded to court.

According to reports, the accused had allegedly entered the house of the girl and misbehaved with her on May 28 around 9 pm. The family members of the girl tried to nab Khuntia but he managed to flee.

Later in the night around 12 am, neighbours of the girl went to the house of the coaching centre owner and thrashed him. Acting on a complaint lodged by the family members, police arrested Khuntia.

On the other hand, the accused has pleaded innocence alleging that the kin of the girl intentionally levelled the allegations against him after he sought tuition fees amounting to Rs 7,000.
