Bhubaneswar: Heavy rainfall occurred in several parts of coastal Odisha while the Regional Meteorological Centre here has issued Orange Warning for several districts of the state for today.

Some parts of Khordha (including Bhubaneswar), Nayagarh, Puri, Jagatsinghpur, Cuttack, Ganjam and Kandhamal districts received intense to very intense spell of rainfall (2 to 3 cm per hour), this morning.

"Thunderstorm with lightning and gusty surface wind speed reaching 30-40 kmph very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Jagatsinghpur, Cuttack, Gajapati, Ganjam, Khordha, Nayagarh, and Puri. Also, heavy rainfall (7 cm to 11 cm) at one or two places likely over districts of Khordha, Puri, Jagatsinghpur, Cuttack, and Nayagarh," the Meteorological Centre forecasted and issued Orange Warning for these districts.

"Thunderstorm with lightning very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Koraput, Malkangiri, Rayagada, Kandhamal, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, and Mayurbhanj" it added and issued Yellow Warning for these districts.
