Cold wave grips Odisha as Daringbadi shivers at 4°C; Check IMD’s forecast

Bhubaneswar: Intense cold wave conditions gripped Odisha as 13 stations of the state recorded minimum temperature below 10 degree Celsius, today.

Daringbadi was the coldest place in the state as mercury plummeted to as low as 4°C.

Others places where the minimum temperature dropped below 10 degree Celsius were Baripada (9.5), Jharsuguda (5.6), Keonjhar (7.4), Sambalpur (9), Sundargarh (8), Hirakud (9), Talcher (9), Bhawanipatna (8.9), Balangir (8), Phulbani (6.5), Titlagarh (9.3) and Sonepur (6.9).

Lowest temperature in capital city Bhubaneswar was recorded at 13.8 degree Celsius.

Several places in Odisha, including Daringbadi and Koida, witnessed frost this morning, owing to the cold wave conditions.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecasted that minimum temperature (night temperature) is likely to fall by 2-3°C over the districts of Odisha during the next 2 days and no large change thereafter.

Minimum temperature will be below normal by 2-4°C over the districts of Odisha during next 4-5 days, it added.
