Bhubaneswar: After a brief pause, cold wave returned to Odisha with decline of mercury by 3 to 4 degree Celsius at several places under influence of north wind.
As many as nine places in Odisha stood below 10 degree Celsius yesterday night. While mercury plummeted to 5 degree Celsius at G Udayagiri in Kandhamal district for the first time this winter, becoming the coldest place in Odisha, Similiguda in Koraput district shivered at 7 degree Celsius.
Similarly, the minimum temperature dipped to 7.6 degree C in Keonjhar, 7.8 degree in Chipilima (Sambalpur district), 8 degree C in Phulbani (Kandhamal district), 8.2 degree C in Jharsuguda, 8,5 degree C in Sundargarh, 9 degree in Koraput and Daringibadi (Kandhamal district).
Angul recorded 10 degree C minimum temperature and Mahisapat and Ranital recorded 10.5 degree C each.
The temperature in Twin City Bhubaneswar and Cuttack dropped to 13 degree C and 13.2 degree C respectively last night.
