Cold wave grips Odisha; mercury drops to 7.5 degree C in Daringbadi

Bhubaneswar: The cold wave continued to grip entire Odisha with the mercury plummeting below 12 degree C in several places this morning.

Daringbadi recorded the lowest of 7.5 degree Celsius followed by Phulbani (9.3 degree C) and Sonepur (9.8 degree C).

As per the cold wave condition recorded by 8.30 am on Sunday, four more places had the minimum temperature below 12 degree C. They included Balasore (11.3), Angul (10.0), Keonjhargarh (10.8), Sundargarh (11.0) and Titilagarh (11.1).

The Twin City Bhubaneswar-Cuttack recorded 15.1 and 13.5 degree C respectively in past 24 hours.

Similarly, the minimum temperature also declined in other stations of Odisha. While Chandbali stood at 14.4 degree C, Paradip recorded 16.5 degree C, Puri 15.6 degree C, Baripada 12.6 degree C, Jharsuguda 13.6 degree C, Sambalpur 12.4 degree C, Hirakud 13.5 degree C, Talcher 13.0 degree C, Bhawanipatna 13.0 degree C, Balangir 14.0 degree C and Koraput 12.0 degree C.
