Cold wave grips Odisha, Phulbani shivers

Cold wave conditions further intensified in Odisha with 13 places across the state recording minimum temperatures below 10 degrees Celsius today, while district headquarters town of Phulbani recording 2 degrees, the lowest this season.

The places that recorded the minimum temperature below 10 degrees Celsius on Sunday are Phulbani 2 degrees Celsius, Sundargarh 6 degrees Celsius, Daringibadi 7 degrees Celsius, Hirakud 7.6 degrees Celsius, Koraput 7.8 degrees Celsius, Titilagarh 8.5 degrees Celsius, Keonjhargarh 8.8 degrees Celsius, Angul 9 degrees Celsius, Jharsuguda 9.2 degrees Celsius, Bhawanipatna 9.6 degrees Celsius, Sambalpur 9.7 degrees Celsius, Baleswar and Baripada 9.9 degrees Celsius each, according to the weather bulletin released by the Meteorological Centre here this evening.

The maximum temperature recorded across the state varied between 24.4 degrees Celsius and 30.4 degrees Celsius. While Baripada recorded the lowest maximum temperature of 24.4 degrees Celsius, Malkangiri recorded the highest maximum temperature of 30.4 degrees Celsius.

While the weatherman has predicted dry weather over the state till December 31, it has forecast cold wave conditions shall  prevail the state.
