Cold wave intensifies in Odisha; Phulbani trembles at 2 degrees

The cold wave conditions in Odisha intensified today with the mercury dipping to 2 degree Celsius in Phulbani.

Apart from Phulbani, temperature came down to single digit in Baripada (9.8), Jharsuguda (8.1), Keonjhar (7.3), Sambalpur (9.3), Sundargarh (4.9), Hirakud (8.3), Bhawanipatna (7.2), Bolangir (9.1), Koraput (7.8), Titlagarh (9.5), Malkangiri (9), Daringbadi (5.5) and Dhenkanal (9.3).

Besides, temperature also fell by nearly 2 degree Celsius in Bhubaneswar (11.9), Baleswar (11), Chandbali (11.6), Cuttack (13.4), Paradip (13.4), Gopalpur (13.1), Puri (13.8), Angul (10), Talcher (13.1) and Sonepur (11.8).

The local Met office, in a release here this evening, has predicted that the cold wave conditions in the state would persist till December 24.
