Cold wave intensifies in Odisha

Odisha came under intense cold wave as temperature came down sharply in most places today.

winterAccording to a Met office release this evening, Phulbani was the coldest place with 6.2 degree Celsius.

Apart from Phulbani, temperature dipped to single digit in Jharsuguda (9.2), Keonjhar (6.3), Sundargarh (8.4), Hirakud (9.5), Bhawanipatna (6.4), Koraput (7.8), Malkangiri (9.8) and Daringbadi (8).

Besides, temperature remained between 10 and 13 degree in Baleswar (12), Chandbali (12.8), Cuttack (13), Bhubaneswar (12.4), Gopalpur (13.3), Angul (10.6), Baripada (11.4), Sambalpur (10.6), Talcher (12), Bolangir (10.4), Titlagarh (12) and Dhenkanal (10.5).

As per the Met office forecast, the cold wave condition would intensify further in the next 72 hours till January 13.

Besides, it also said that moderate fog may occur over coastal Odisha for two days on January 14 and 15 followed by rain or thundershower in these places on January 15 and 16.
