“While temperature dipped by 2-3 degrees last night all over the state, it will continue to slide down another 5-7 degrees within the next 2-3 days. Also, fog will disrupt day to day life in coastal belt of Odisha,” Said Sarat Sahoo, Director of RMC.

While temperature in Bhubaneswar was 22.1 degrees day before yesterday, it dropped to 20.1 yesterday. It might go down to 16 degrees tonight.  The temperature in Phulbani, which was 18 degrees day before yesterday, dropped to 15.5 yesterday and might drop to below 10 tonight, he said.

There was rapid drop in temperature in the rest of the state as well. While temperature in Puri was 28 degrees day before yesterday, it dropped to 21.6 yesterday.

The weather will follow the same trend all over the state as per the forecast of the RMC intensifying the cold wave which had receded a bit due to rain.

“The speed of the wind flowing from Bay of Bengal to the state will be less and sky will be free from cloud causing intense fog in the coastal belt. However, it wouldn’t have any impact in the northern and western part of the state,” said Sahoo.
