Cold wave likely to grip Odisha in next 48 hours

Bhubaneswar: The cold wave is likely to grip most parts of Odisha in the next 48 hours with a drop in minimum temperature by 3 to 5 degree Celsius.

As the cold wave condition prevails in Odisha, the regional MeT today issued cold wave warning till Jan 19 for the places in the north, interior and southern districts.

“The cold wave condition likely to prevail at one or two places over Sundergarh, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Keonjhar, Angul, Balangir, Sonepur, Boudh, Bargarh, Dhenkanal, Balasore and Mayurbhanj districts of Odisha,” the Bhubaneswar MeT said in a bulletin.

The shallow fog has occurred at isolated places over the district of Kandhamal of South Interior Odisha. The weather has been dry. The minimum temperatures observed no large change and were appreciably below normal over Odisha, the release said.

While the maximum temperature was 31.1 degree C in Talcher, Phulbani was the lowest town with 6.8 degree C today. The night temperature is likely to be below normal by 3 to 5 degree Celsius during next 2-3 days over the districts of Odisha.
