Cold wave likely to prevail in these districts of Odisha today

Bhubaneswar: Several districts of Odisha are likely to experience cold wave conditions today, the Regional Meteorological Centre here predicted.

Cold wave condition very likely to prevail at one or two places over the districts of Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, Deogarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Angul, Dhenkanal, Sambalpur, Sonepur, Boudh and Kandhamal, the Meteorological Centre forecasted.

The cold wave conditions are a result of northwesterly/ northerly dry and cold wind at lower levels penetrating over Odisha.

“No large change in minimum temperature (night temperature) during next 2-3 days and gradual rise by 2-4°C in subsequent period over the districts of Odisha. Also, minimum temperature very likely to be below normal by 3-5°C at many places over the districts Odisha during next 2-3 days,” it added.
