Collective effort needed to make India a prosperous country by 2047: President

Bhubaneswar: India requires collective effort to become a prosperous country by 2047, said President Droupadi Murmu at the second convocation of Rama Devi Women’s University here today.

The President put emphasis on modern technology for rapid development in the country. She also asked the students to adhere to our ethical values to become good human beings in life.

Many women in India have done extremely well in the fields of literature, culture, dance, art, politics, and science and technology, opined the President.

“Women empowerment is no longer a slogan in India. Rather, it has become a reality in several fields. The representation of women in politics is rising day-by-day. Now, more than 100 women are representing the people at Indian Parliament. This is good for the future of democracy in our country,” said the President.

Women constitute nearly 50 per cent of India’s population and their empowerment will make our country a true leader in the whole world, she added.

The President claimed that the Centre and the state government are trying their best for the all-round development of the people of India. She asked the student to keep faith in their ability to do better in life.
