Collectors asked to repair village roads in 3 Titli-hit dists of Odisha

Bhubaneswar: Collectors of Ganjam, Gajapati and Rayagada, the three district which were severely affected by cyclonic storm ‘Titli’, have been directed to take immediate steps for repair and restoration of village roads in the the districts.

In a letter to the three collectors, Panchayati Raj Department’s Secretary DK Singh has directed them for repair and restoration of Gram Panchayat and Gram Samiti roads converging funds from MGNREGS, GGY, CFC & SFC Grant and other available funds in Blocks and GPs.

“Wherever required, other funds available with Blocks and GPs can be utilised for the purpose which should be immediately recouped on receipt of fund from Special Relief Commissioner,” Singh said in the letter.

It is important that these roads are repaired urgently so that relief and restoration work can be taken up immediately to the cyclone/flood affected areas, the official said.
