Collectors’ workshop: Odisha CM asks to focus on 3Ts formula

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik asked the collectors to focus on 3Ts — Technology, Teamwork and Transparency — for fast delivery of their services in administration.

Addressing a three-day Collectors’ Workshop at state secretariat here today, Patnaik said, “I expect all the Collectors to act as agents of change for the betterment of public service delivery mechanism of the government.”

“Encouraging team spirit, ensuring transparency and effectively using technology to provide last mile delivery of services to people will be the focus of our administration,” he said.

People come to different government offices with faith and belief in the delivery mechanism. He asked the collectors to try their best to vindicate that faith of people and never let their belief in the officers to be destroyed.

The workshop has been divided into five groups of collectors. Some of the major pro-people initiatives taken by the government including rural housing, water supply, paddy procurement schemes, the schemes relating to farmers, facilities for the students, municipal services, youth & skill development, implementation of Forest Rights Act, welfare schemes for the construction workers, public service delivery under Odisha Right to Public Services Act, improvement of government hospitals and health services will be deliberated at lenghth to arrive at innovative solutions for better implementation of various flagship programmes.

During the event, Patnaik launched a web portal seeking people’s feedback by June 30 for improving service delivery.

“Feedback from people will also be obtained for improving service delivery. For this a web portal for collecting feedback from citizens has also been developed. The inputs from people will be received till 30th of this month. The outcome of this workshop occupied with constructive suggestions received from the citizens will be duly considered for improving our reach to people,” the CM said.

He will review the performance of collectors about improvement achieved by them through the use of 3Ts formula.

“I will be reviewing the performance of collectors regarding improvement in Public Service Delivery through the use of 3Ts on a regular basis,” he said at the workshop.

He said that he will be informed about the issues instead of directing the collectors for the execution of programmes.

“You wear two hats…you are the person who has expectations from the government and you are also the government from whom people have lots of expectations. What would you expect from a citizen centric government? Give your suggestions in this light. Let us work together for an empowered Odisha,” Patnaik told the collectors at workshop.
