Bargarh: A minor girl was found dead at the room of a hotel in Odisha's Bargarh district, today.

The 17-year-old girl was a resident of Bheluapadar area under Gaisilat police limits in Bargarh district and a +2 student of a college in Balangir district.

According to reports, one Rahul Bag of Pardhiapali village under Balangir Sadar police limits, who is a friend of the minor girl, had taken her to the hotel room.

On being informed about the death of the girl at the room, Bargarh Town police reached the place this morning, recovered the body for post-mortem and started an investigation to ascertain the circumstances under which she died.

On the other hand, police have detained Rahul for questioning. It is being suspected that he killed the girl over some issues pertaining to love affair.

The cause of the death can be known after submission of autopsy report, said police.

A murder case has been registered while further probe was underway.
