College girl raped by relative in Odisha’s Kalahandi

Bhawanipatna: A +2 girl student was allegedly raped by her relative in Mukhiguda area under Jaipatna police limits in Odisha’s Kalahandi district.

The accused, identified as Jyoti Ranjan Das, has been arrested.

According to police sources, the minor girl was staying at her relative’s house and pursuing +2 course at a local college.

On July 25 night, Jyoti Ranjan allegedly raped the girl while she was sleeping. Acting on a complaint lodged by the victim, police registered a case against the accused under Sections 376, 341, 323 and POCSO Act, and apprehended him yesterday.

On the other hand, the girl has been sent to a shelter home.
