College girl shot at in Odisha capital
Bhubaneswar: In broad daylight, a college girl student was shot at by two unidentified miscreants in Infocity police station area here today.
The girl, who sustained bullet injuries in her both thighs, was admitted to Kalinga Hospital for treatment. However, the reason behind the firing is yet to be ascertained.
As per reports, the girl identified as Sonali of Balasore area is studying fashion designing at a private institute in Infocity area. This afternoon, two bike-borne miscreants came and opened two rounds of fire at her in presence of her male friend before fleeing the spot.
On receiving information, police reached the hospital for an inquiry. However, the Commissionerate Police tweeted, “Initial reports reveal that the girl was not the target and she had nothing to do. She is out of danger as per the treating physicians. The accused has been identified, motive known. Investigation is in preliminary stages and facts can change.”

Meanwhile, Police Commissioner Sudhanshu Sarangi sanctioned an initial amount of Rs 25,000 for treatment of the victim.
