College teacher run over by private bus in Odisha

Bargarh: In an unfortunate incident, a 35-year-old college teacher was run over by a truck while he was waiting for a bus at Kermelabahal Chhak in Padampur sub-division in Bargarh district this morning.

The deceased identified as Dhabaleswar Shah, a resident of Khandijharan village, was an English teacher of Mandosil College in the district.

As per sources Dhabaleswar was waiting on roadside to board a bus to the college at around 8.30 AM today, when a speeding private bus mowed him down. He was later rushed to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared him dead.

Following the accident, the bus driver surrendered at Paikamal police station with his vehicle. Meanwhile, irate locals staged a protest in the locality demanding compensation for family members of the deceased. Later, police reached the spot and pacified the locals.
