Bhubaneswar: Several temples, parks and flyovers in Odisha capital will soon be illuminated with colourful lights every evening under the Light Sculpture Project of the Bhubaneswar Development Authority (BDA).

Modern and colourful LED lights will be installed at three major flyovers-- Vani Vihar, Acharya Vihar and Jaydev Vihar; six parks-- Biju Patnaik park, Indira Gandhi (IG) park, Buddha Jayanti park, Mahatma Gandhi park and Kharavela park; and 17 temples in Old Town area-- Ananta Vasudeva temple, Markandeswar temple, Sari temple, Vaital temple, Bhabanisankar temple, Chitrakrinit temple, Dakarabibhisaneswar temple, Devi Padahara temple, Bakreswar temple, Nabakeswar temple, Swarnajaleswar temple, Papanasini and Maitreswar temple, Aisaneswara temple, Makareswar temple, Dwaravashini temple, Mohini temple and Yameswara temple.

Yesterday, BDA officials carried out the trial run of the project at Jaydev Vihar flyover as the bridge was illuminated with tricolour LED lights. A trial run of the illumination was also carried out at IG park.

While the lighting work has been done in 10 temples, rest will be completed soon, sources said.
