Comic star Sugandha Mishra booked for Covid-19 violation

Phagwara: Television’s latest real life couple comedy stars Sugandha Mishra and Sanket Bhosale have landed in some serious legal trouble. Reason: They have been booked for violating COVID-19 norms on their wedding ceremony that was orchestrated at a resort in Phagwara town in Punjab on April 26.

Police told media that a case, under Section 188 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and relevant sections of the Disaster Management Act, has been filed against Sugandha, Sanket’s side of family, the owner of the resort and all the guests present at the wedding. The cops registered the case after a video from the comedy-couple’s wedding ceremony went viral, showing a huge gathering at the venue, here.

However, no one has been arrested for now. Investigations are proceeding, police said.
