Bhubaneswar: A day after release of Commando web series on OTT platform, debutant Prem Parija visited his hometown Bhubaneswar on Saturday to promote the high-octane action drama.

This comes a day after the grand launch of the web series in the national capital.

“The Commando web series started streaming on Disney+ Hotstar from yesterday. Vipul Sir and I visited the National War Memorial hours after the launch to pay homage to the real-life commandos. Promotional events are scheduled back to back. As part of the programme, I am in Bhubaneswar today. It’s a nostalgic feeling to be back in my hometown,” Commando lead actor Prem Parija expressed.

The Assistant Director-turned-actor briefly narrated that he would be essaying the grueling life of a commando who carries out operations in hostile environments. The character needs to be physically and mentally tough and I think I have given my best in portraying the character, he added.

“I hope you extend your love and blessings to me. Wherever I am going, I am getting a warm reception. I hope that will be replicated by my people in Odisha too,” the first Odia to have landed a lead in OTT platform quipped adding that ‘Commando’ is sure to excite and intrigue everyone, not just fans of the action genre.

Earlier in the day, the actor visited Jagannath Temple in Puri to pay obeisance to the deities.

The show has been directed and produced by Vipul Amrutlal Shah. Adah Sharma, Amit Sial, Tigmanshu Dhulia and Mukesh Chhabra will be seen in pivotal roles. It also stars Vaibhav Tatwawadi, Shreya Singh Chaudhry and Ishteyak Khan.

The ‘Commando’ franchise started in 2013 with ‘Commando: A One Man Army’ which starred Vidyut Jammwal in the titular role. Over the years, the franchise has become a favourite of the enthusiasts of the action genre.
