Commemorative postage stamps on legendary Odia poets to be released tomorrow

 

Bhubaneswar: Union Minister of Railways, Communications and Electronics & Information Technology Ashwini Vaishnaw is scheduled to visit Odisha on February 20.

Vaishnaw will attend several programmes of Railways and Postal departments, sources said.

Vaishnaw along with Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan will release commemorative postage stamps on legendary poets of Odisha and cultural heritage of Western Odisha on the day.

Vaishnaw will release the commemorative postage stamps through videoconferencing from Odisha capital while Pradhan will grace the function at Biju Patnaik Auditorium on the premises of Sambalpur University at Burla.

At least 42 branch post offices of Sambalpur, Bargarh, Deogarh, Jharsuguda and Sundargarh divisions will also be inaugurated on the occasion.

Vaishnaw is scheduled to review the performance of East Coast Railway and discuss on various issues related to projects, traffic facility works and infrastructure related matters of the Railways, sources said.

The Railway Minister will also join some local programmes in the capital city here and leave for Delhi in the evening.
