Commission on Sri Mandir reforms submits interim report to Odisha govt

Justice B P Das Commission of Inquiry on Sri Mandir reforms today submitted its interim report to Odisha government.

The Commission’s Secretary today presented the interim report on Sri Mandir reforms to Law Minister Arun Sahu at the State Secretariat here.

According to Justice Das, the Commission has recommended for stringent action in the event of indiscipline at the time of Rath Yatra and under no circumstances, indiscipline in any form will be tolerated during any festival of Sri Mandir.

Similarly, the Commission has recommended stringent action in the event of misbehavior towards women devotees.

Besides, the Commission has suggested for the appointment of a health officer in Sri Mandir for checking the quality of prasad inside the temple.

Further, it has recommended for the widening of roads on the four sides of Sri Mandir in addition to the installation of sufficient numbers of CCTV cameras in Puri town.

“We have recommended for certain administrative reforms in Sri Mandir. We have also suggested the government for implementing certain reforms in policing inside Sri Mandir,” said Justice Das briefing reporters.
