Commissionerate Police beefs up security for Holi

Bhubaneswar: The Commissionerate Police has made elaborate arrangements to ensure safety and security of people during the festival of Holi on Friday (March 22).

Issuing an advisory in this connection today, the City Police directed its officials to remain vigilant round the clock in order to prevent any untoward incident in the Twin City of Cuttack and Bhubaneswar  during Holi festival celebrations.

As many as 15 platoons of force will be deployed in Bhubaneswar and 10 platoons in Cuttack to avoid any untoward incident during Holi celebration, informed Police Commissioner Satyajit Mohanty.

Besides, the City’s top cop also said that traffic enforcement will also be intensified to check speed biking and noise pollution across the city and PCR vans will be used for mobile patrolling.

In order check the use of chemicals in colours, the Commissionerate Police has urged the State Pollution Control Board to deploy staff for conducting raids at various outlets in the city.

In order to prevent any mishaps, ODRAF teams will be deployed at two sensitive places like rivers and water bodies in Cuttack and Bhubaneswar, Mohanty added.
