Commissionerate Police issues advisory on regulation of traffic in and around Barabati Stadium for inaugural ceremony

Cuttack: The Commissionerate Police issued an advisory today on the regulation of traffic in and around Barabati Stadium in Cuttack in view of the inaugural ceremony of FIH Odisha Hockey Men’s World Cup 2023 Bhubaneswar-Rourkela scheduled to be held on January 11 (Wednesday) here.

A source said that expecting the movement of a large number of people and vehicles including players, officials and dignitaries, for better convenience of the public/spectators and to ensure smooth management of traffic during the celebration of the mega event, a fresh advisory was brought out.

Following restrictions have been imposed in the interest of the public at large:

  1. Vehicles coming on Ring Road, from the side of Mata Matha, will be diverted to the right at three different lanes before Gadagadia temple and will be allowed to park at Lower Bali Jatra Ground. Vehicles bearing Car Pass will move towards Gadagadeswara Temple through Bamboo Depot Gada and will be allowed to park at designated parking places.
  2. The four-wheelers and three-wheelers coming from Howrah Motor Square and Mastan Dargha will take a right turn from Girnar Hotel towards the Ring Road and they are supposed to be parked at Lower Bali Jatra Ground. However, these vehicles will not be allowed to proceed directly toward Akashvani Kendra.
  3. Vehicles having valid Car Passes issued by a competent authority will move from near Bamboo Depot towards the Barabati Stadium.
  4. No vehicles shall be allowed to move from the Chief Justice Residence locality, CDMO Office and Madhusudan Statue area toward Barabati Stadium.
  5. No vehicles shall be allowed from Fire Station Square towards the Barabati Stadium via Reserve Police Office. These vehicles will be allowed to be parked at Lower Bali Jatra Ground by moving via the Buxi Bazaar Square, Samaj Office Square, Chandi Temple Square, Kanika Square and Biju Pattanaik Square.
  6. No vehicles shall be allowed to move directly towards Nariseva Sadan from Samaj Office Square. These vehicles will be allowed to park at Lower Bali Jatra Ground by moving through Mission Road, Chandi Temple Square, Kanika Square and Biju Pattanaik Square.
  7. The vehicles coming from the Stewart School side will not be allowed to proceed towards Barabati Stadium and these vehicles will go on by availing Kala Bikash Kendra Road.
  8. No vehicles shall be allowed from Chandi Temple side to proceed towards Barabati Stadium and these vehicles will go on by availing Convent School Road, except the ones bearing Car Pass.
  9. The vehicles coming from Biju Pattanaik Square side will not be permitted to move towards the Barabati Stadium through the side of Dayashram Square. These vehicles will be allowed to park at Lower Bali Jatra Ground by moving through Ring Road by the side of Deer Park.
  10. No vehicles shall be allowed from Anand Bhawan Gada to Upper Bali Jatra Ground through Indoor Stadium. The only vehicles having Cuttack Club Pass and vehicles of the local residents shall be allowed to proceed towards the GadaChandi Temple via Indoor Stadium.
  11. The vehicles coming from Chahata Square will go straight through Ring Road towards Gadagadia temple and will be allowed to park at Lower Bali Jatra Ground.
  12. No vehicles shall be allowed to move towards the Barabati Stadium from Convent School Road, PHD Office Square, Kill Khana and Dayashram Square.

Notably, the above-mentioned Traffic Regulations will remain in force from 12 Noon onwards on January 11 till the end of the inauguration ceremony or till the crowd is effectively dispersed.

The public has been requested to extend their active cooperation in this regard.
