Bhubaneswar: The Congress party today announced its candidates for eight Assembly and two Lok Sabha segments in Odisha for 2024 polls.

The party has fielded veteran leader Suresh Mohapatra from Cuttack Lok Sabha seat. The Congress also changed its candidate for Sambalpur Lok Sabha seat.

Nagendra Pradhan will be the Congress candidate for Sambalpur Lok Sabha seat in the place of Dulal Chandra Pradhan, said a release issued by the AICC today.

The party has picked MLA Mohammed Moquim’s daughter Sofia Firdous to fight the Assembly polls from Barabati-Cuttack seat.

The Congress has changed its candidates for two Assembly seats—Baripada and Khandapada—in the fresh list of party nominees for the upcoming twin polls.

Pramod Kumar Hembram will fight the election in the place of Badal Hembram from Baripada seat. Similarly, Baijayantimala Mohanty has replaced Manoj Kumar Pradhan as Congress nominee for Khandapada Assembly segment.
