Congress launches stir on price rise across Odisha

The Odisha Congress today launched a statewide agitation against price rise of essential commodities.

Congress workers gheraoed Collectors’ offices and stge demonstrations across the state.

Accusing the state government and the Centre of failing to contain price rise, the Grand Old party has taken to streets against prise hike of essential items.

“There has been continuous price rise in the state. The common people are facing difficulties as they cannot afford to buy essential commodities like dal and onion at such inflated prices. This situation has arisen due to the neglect of state and Central governments. We are protesting this in every district,” Congress spokesperson Sulochana Das said.

The party has issued instructions to the district committees to stage demonstration before the offices of the district collectors in protest against the skyrocketing prices of onion and pulses.
