Bhubaneswar: Congress leader and former Rajasthan Deputy Chief Minister Sachin Pilot will hit the campaign trail for the simultaneous Lok Sabha and Assembly polls in Odisha on May 18.

Pilot, the son of late Congress leader Rajesh Pilot, is scheduled to campaign for the party in Bhograi area under Balasore Lok Sabha constituency in Odisha.

“We have made all arrangements for the campaigning by former Rajasthan Deputy Chief Minister Sachin Pilot,” said Satya Shiba Das, the Congress nominee for Bhograi Assembly seat.

Balasore Lok Sabha constituency and seven Assembly segments—Badasahi, Jaleswar, Bhograi, Basta, Balasore, Remuna and Nilagiri—under its jurisdiction will go to the polls on June 1.

The Congress party has picked former Union Minister Srikant Jena to fight the polls from Balasore Lok Sabha seat. Jena will take on sitting MP and BJP nominee Pratap Sarangi and BJD candidate Lekhasri Samantasinghar in the polls.

Notably, Sachin pilot has been made a star campaigner for Congress party in the twin polls in Odisha.
