Congress names Pranaya Sahu as candidate for Bijepur bypoll in Odisha

Bhubaneswar: Congress today announced Pranaya Sahu as the candidate for the Bijepur Assembly bypoll scheduled on February 24 in Bargarh district.

With approval by AICC President Rahul Gandhi, Pranaya was fielded as the candidate for the byboll to the Odisha Legislative Assembly.

The Congress President Rahul Gandhi has approved the candidature of Pranaya Sahu as the Congress candidate for the ensuing bye-election to Legislative Assembly of Odisha from Bijepur Assembly Constituency, an AICC press release said.

Sahu will file his nomination papers for the bypoll on Feb 6.

While BJP fielded Ashok Panigrahi for the upcoming bypoll, the ruling BJD has announced Rita Sahu, widow of Subala Sahu, as its candidate for the bye-election.
