Congress reviews poll debacle in Odisha

Bhubaneswar: Congress today began reviewing poor performance of the party in the recently concluded Lok Sabha and Assembly polls in Odisha.

Both the winners and losers of the party in the polls are present at the meeting chaired by Congress State in-charge Jitendra Singh at Congress Bhawan in Bhubaneswar.

Congress sources said that the party will analyse the factors for which the grand old party was rejected by the voters in the elections.
Besides, Congress will select its legislature party leader and prepare strategy at the meeting to strengthen the party in the upcoming days.

Notably, the national party faced huge setback with losing both the parliament and state elections 2019. Several leaders including PCC President Niranjan Patnaik were defeated with huge margin of votes in the polls.

Congress was slipped to third position in the state with winning only nine Assembly seats. The party registered only one seat in the Lok Sabha polls in Odisha.
