Congress workers hurl tomatoes at Odisha minister’s residence

Bhubaneswar: Members of National Students’ Union of India (NSUI), student wing of the Indian National Congress, today hurled tomatoes at the residence of Minister of State for Home, Dibya Shankar Mishra in Odisha capital.

Several NSUI members holding party flags marched towards Mishra’s residence and hurled tomatoes demanding his resignation over the Puri gang-rape incident. They also warned to hurl eggs at Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and demanded his resignation too.

“Dibya Shankar Mishra has neither spoken over the matter nor met the kin of the victim. Only party programmes are important to him. We demand resignation of Mishra and the CM. The agitation will continue till fulfillment of our demands,” said NSUI leader Rajeeb Pattanaik.

Around 15-20 NSUI members have been taken into preventive custody.
