Conman posing as Bloomberg TV director held for job fraud in Odisha

Bhubaneswar: A conman posing as the director of a television channel was arrested in Bhubaneswar for allegedly cheating a youth on pretext of offering him a job.

The accused has been identified as Balabhadra Mishra (38) of Matiasahi area in Angul district.

According to reports, the accused Balabhadra Mishra claiming him to be working with the Bloomberg Television, the US-based television network, had duped one youth ‘Ajit Tripathy’ of Rs 1.30 lakh promising to give him a job in the television channel.

The Airport Police in Bhubaneswar said that Mishra had asked the victim to pay Rs 1.30 lakh towards registration and HR fees. The victim had also paid full amount to the accused. Instead of offering him a job in the reputed television network, he started avoiding him after receiving money.

Based on allegation lodged by the victim, the Airport Police initiated probe into the matter and managed to apprehend the fake director of the TV channel. The police have seized a mobile phone and some important documents from possession of the accused.
