Constable held for selling brown sugar in Odisha Capital

Bhubaneswar: A constable was arrested by the special squad of the Commissionerate Police on charges of selling brown sugar in Bhubaneswar today.

Acting on reliable information, the special squad raided a place in Nayapalli area and caught the accused constable, J. Bharimal while selling the contraband item.

The special squad also seized 10 gram brown sugar from the constable’s possession. Interrogation of the accused is underway.

Recently the Excise department had arrested an auto rickshaw driver near Kolathia Chhak on NH 16 in Bhubaneswar for selling brown sugar. Brown sugar worth Rs 3 lakh was also seized from him.
