Construction company MD arrested in Odisha capital for land fraud

Bhubaneswar: The Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of Odisha Crime Branch today arrested the Managing Director of a construction company for duping investors.

As per Crime Branch sources, the anti-corruption sleuths arrested Chinmaya Mallick, Managing Director of Surya Nirman Resources Private Limited for defrauding investors of lakhs of rupees on promise of providing land to them.

“Chinmaya Kumar Mallick, MD of M/S Surya Nirman Resources Pvt Ltd arrested for duping over 100 investors by falsely promising to give land. He was running an office at Bomikhal, Bhubaneswar which he had closed down after taking money from duped investors. Accused learnt to be involved in some more cases registered by local police. Further investigation continues,” Crime Branch Specail DGP Bijay Kumar Sharma said.
