Contingent expenditure of Krushak Sathis hiked in Odisha

Bhubaneswar: The state government has hiked the contingent expenditure of Krushak Sathis in Odisha.

The annual contingent expenditure of Krushak Sathis has been hiked to Rs 18,000 from the existing Rs 12,000, said the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) in a statement today.

Altogether 13,600 Krushak Sathis in Odisha will be benefited due to the hike in Contingent Expenditure. Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has announced that the hike will be implemented retrospectively from October, 2023, added the CMO.

The state government had appointed two farmers as Krushak Sathis in each gram panchayat in Odisha in 2007-08 fiscal.

The Krushak Sathis create awareness regarding various issues related to agriculture among the farmers. They also provide necessary advice to the farmers, sources said.
